Week 10

Summer 2024 DREU Project

This week we worked on brainstorming and first steps of our next paper which will be a digital ethnography of novice live coders. I’m learning about data science and cross institution IRBs.
This week I worked on the hardware of the TE400. I ripped each pot off the PBC and found each value and resoldered on a new pot. It was tedious and I ended up loosing a bunch of the tiny resistors, so we pivoted and bought another TE 400 and will solder on top of each of the pots. I worked a bit more on the module divider but didn’t make a lot of progress, but did get super fustruated at the cutting software.
Oh man, this week was crazy!
This week we ordered some electronic components for the project and I began designing a tactile module divider on Adobe Illustrator.

I haven’t used GitHub before, so we shall see if if I can figure it out!
I was a little bit slow into figuring out how to do these posts and use GitHub, so I am going to write about what I was doing in the first two weeks of research.
